SLAM POETRY COMPETITION

The Columbus Museum

The slam poetry competition was held annually for high school students. The program consisted of a two-day workshop and a final competition where students competed for cash prizes. During the workshop, students worked with the education staff to study works of art in the museum's permanent collection. Students also worked with poetry instructors and performers to write and perform poems in response to works of art.
